Ross Adams is an award-winning actor, presenter and voiceover artist who has won legions of fans from playing Scott Drinkwell in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks from 2015 to 2024, as well as his portrayal of Jeff Bowyer in the BBC Three sitcom The Gemma Factor. This performance earned Ross a nomination for an RTS Television Award in the Best Performance in a Comedy category. He can currently be seen playing the role of Colin in Channel 5's hugely popular drama series The Good Ship Murder.

Ross studied performing arts at the University of Salford. Since graduating, he has appeared in several television dramas and comedies including Blue Murder, Emmerdale, I'm With Stupid, and Eleventh Hour alongside Patrick Stewart OBE.

Ross has been immersed in the television soap world in many varying roles, both in front of and behind the camera. He previously worked as the assistant to the series producer for Coronation Street before moving to Emmerdale as a storyliner. Having written stories for over 400 episodes he then became a Script Editor, leaving Emmerdale in February 2015 to commence filming Hollyoaks with Channel 4.

Ross's continued appearances on Hollyoaks as character Scott Drinkwell has seen him traverse many of the soap's most popular and gripping storylines in recent years. His performances led to him winning the British Soap Award for Best Male Dramatic Performance in June 2018. Ross has even written an episode for Hollyoaks (episode 6204), which aired in September 2023; a rare feat for an existing cast member.

Away from Hollyoaks, Ross produced and directed Love, Dad & Daddy – a documentary charting his failed adoption journey and what can be done to make the adoption process easier for the LGBTQ+ community. His film won Best Documentary at NEIFF and is available to stream on ITVX, NowTV and AppleTV+.

Ross's presenting work has seen him host Hollyoaks Favourites for E4, Hollyoaks@25 for E4 and Hollyoaks In Real Life: Gay Conversion Therapy, which was nominated for a BAFTA in 2022.

He also works frequently in the field of voiceovers, having voiced several documentaries and commercials, including Kellogg's Frosties.
