Leah Charles-King has over 30 years' experience in the media and entertainment industry as a music artist, TV and radio presenter, producer, live host and public speaker. She is also a the founder and public speaking coach at ​The Red Carpet Academy​, which teaches on-camera skills to spokespeople, businesses and influencers.

Her music career began in the 1990s as one third of the girlband Kleshay signed to Sony Music, who enjoyed two UK chart singles as well as a successful arena tour as supporting act for Lionel Richie.

In 2001 Leah began her presenting career as the first (and only to date) black female continuity presenter on CITV (Children's ITV) in its 40 year history.

Recognised and respected in the industry among her peers, Leah has worked across the UK, America and Europe. Leah's TV credits include BBC, CITV, Disney Channel, Channel 5, BET and Sky, She was the main screen presenter for BET International when it first launched in Europe.

Known for her incredibly personable, engaging and witty style, Leah is an accomplished presenter who has racked up well over 100,000 hours of live, unscripted, non-autocued TV presenting experience and has produced and presented programmes transmitted in Europe, USA and Africa.

Leah enjoyed four years as host and producer of the flagship radio show, Leah CK Drive Time on The Beat London 103.6 fm. The show swiftly became the station's most listened to broadcast and won many coveted industry awards.

In 2019, Leah spoke publicly for the first time of her secret battle since being diagnosed with bipolar and generalised anxiety disorder seven years prior. Leah has launched her own platform presenting and producing content on mental health and wellbeing to normalise the conversation and end the stigma around mental illness. She has since been featured on many podcasts and interviews openly discussing her mental health struggles and has recently filmed a report for BBC One's The One Show, called “Bipolar and Me”.

She is an ambassador for national mental health charity Bipolar UK. The charity has announced a new partnership with mental health and social media platform JAAQ (Just Ask A Question). JAAQ is a free, online platform using voice recognition and AI to provide a safe space where users can ask doctors, experts and those with lived experiences questions on mental health topics at any time of day, without judgement. Leah has created a bank of content for the platform, based on her own experience.

In 2021, Leah joined the presenting team of A Place In The Sun, the Channel 4 programme that helps house hunters find their dream holiday home in sunnier climes.

She has also featured on talking heads programmes for Channel 5, including the When Holidays Go Horribly Wrong series and holiday-related Nightmares programmes.
